Bayberry was used by the Choctaw Indians as a tea, and later included in Samuel Thompson's famous cold and flu formula. Native Americans used bayberry to combat dysentery, diarrhea, fevers and uterine hemorrhaging. And early American settlers used powdered bark in place of toothpaste as an abrasive and to cure gingivitis and a tea was often gargled to help throat inflammations.* Dosage; One to two capsules twice daily with water at mealtimes or prepared as a tea. Maximum use: Take 1 to 4 capsules every hour for 3 to 5 days Reduce use to 2 capsules three times daily for 10 to 14 days following initial use.
