BASIL

(Ocimum basilicum)

This essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves and flowering tops. No chemicals or solvents are used. New Sun's Basil oil is completely pure and potent. Because of this, you will only use a few drops at a time in most aromatherapy applications. Oil of Basil can aid in cases of depression and also can help fight infection. It also helps to clear and expel mucus, reduce fever, improve circulation and relieve menstrual cramps and gas. It is also a natural insect repellent.

Blends Well with : Bergamot, Chamomile, Clary Sage, Black Pepper, Geranium, Lavender, Lemongrass, and Marjoram.

PRECAUTIONS: Do not use basil for longer than 3 weeks at a time and avoid during pregnancy. Do not use on Children.

For reducing mental fatigue: Vaporize a combination of 3 drops of rosemary and 4 drops basil in the diffuser to combat fatigue and improve concentration.

For relieving exhaustion: Dilute 3 drops basil in 1 tbsp. unscented bath oil and mix with warm bath water. Stir water before entering.

For reducing muscular aches and pains: Create a massage oil by combining 4 drops basil and 20 drops Chamomile in 1oz unscented massage oil. Most helpful for anxiety related aches and pains.

For a natural insect repellent: Use an atomizer, dilute 4 drops basil and 2 drops lemongrass in 2 oz water. Shake well before each use.
